The Oracle Subledger Accounting course teaches students about the rule-based accounting engine, toolset, and repository that supports Oracle E-Business Suite modules. The course begins with an overview of Subledger Accounting key concepts and terminology, integrations with other Oracle eBusiness applications, accounting setups, ledgers, and multiple representations of subledger transactions.
Students learn to use the Accounting Methods Builder (AMB) to create and modify subledger journal line setups and application accounting definitions. They will also review implementation considerations for setting up and using Oracle Subledger Accounting. Students learn to use the Create Accounting program and the Transfer Journal Entries to General Ledger program to create and transfer journal entries to the general ledger. Students create subledger accounting entries, learn to compare subledger journal entry information, and view subledger journal entry headers and lines.
Students practice creating manual subledger journal entries. They learn to inquire and report on subledger journal entries, accounting events, and general ledger balances, and drill down to the underlying transactions. They practice generating the Journal Entries report. The course also touches on some of the more advanced options, such as custom sources, business flows, multiperiod accounting, sequences, and the diagnostic framework.
