The Oracle Unified Directory 11g: Services Deployment Essentials course teaches student to install Oracle Unified Directory 11g and deploy servers in topologies that support replication, failover, load balancing, and co-existence with Oracle Directory Server, Enterprise Edition (ODSEE) 11g directories.

Students start by installing the OUD 11g software and setting up servers. Then they practice using graphical and command-line tools that support the product.

The bulk of the course is devoted to server deployment. Students set up multiple servers, then implement replication among the servers. Then they set up an OUD 11g server running in proxy mode, and use this server to implement directory failover and load balancing, illustrating distribution topologies available in OUD 11g. Finally, working with pre-deployed ODSEE 11g servers, students create a parallel OUD 11g deployment that coexists with the ODSEE 11g deployment by installing a replication gateway server and implementing replication between the ODSEE 11g and OUD 11g servers.
